“Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good; His love endures forever.” — Psalm 136:1
Thanksgiving has a way of slowing us down.
It invites us to pause, breathe, and look around with new eyes, eyes that notice blessings we usually rush past, and a heart that remembers the faithfulness of God.
Today, as families gather, tables fill, and laughter rises in the air, we have a beautiful opportunity to lift our eyes above the busyness and reflect on the One from whom every good gift flows (James 1:17).
Giving thanks is easy when life feels steady.
But Scripture reminds us that thanksgiving isn’t just a seasonal practice, it’s a spiritual posture. Paul writes, “In everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you” (1 Thessalonians 5:18).
“In everything.”
Not “for everything.”
There’s a difference.
We may not be thankful for loss, hardship, or uncertainty…
but we can be thankful in them, because God is present, God is working, and God is still faithful.
Gratitude doesn’t deny the storm, it declares who stands with us in it. This Thanksgiving, we sit at tables filled with food, but God has given us a deeper table, a spiritual feast that never runs empty:
Mercy that meets us every morning (Lamentations 3:22–23).
Grace that carries what we cannot.
Peace that guards our hearts.
Joy the world cannot steal.
Love that never lets go.
When we consider all God has done, all He is doing, and all He has promised, our hearts can’t help but respond with praise.
Think back over this year:
There were prayers you whispered that God answered quietly…
doors He opened…
burdens He lifted…
strength He gave when you felt empty…
and moments when His hand protected you in ways you didn’t see at the time.
Thanksgiving is not just a holiday, it is a reminder to look back and say,
“Lord, You have been good.”
Father, today we pause to say thank You.
Thank You for every blessing You’ve poured into our lives—seen and unseen.
Thank You for the strength that carried us, the grace that covered us, and the love that never failed us.
Help us to live with grateful hearts, not just today but every day.
Teach us to see Your goodness in every season, to appreciate the people around us, and to trust Your hand in all things.
We give You praise, honor, and thanksgiving, today and always.
Amen.
As you enjoy the food, the people, and the love of family today, remember this:
A thankful heart sees God more clearly.
Let gratitude shape your words, calm your spirit, and remind you that God has been faithful, and He will continue to be.
Happy Thanksgiving From Our Family To Yours!
May God bless you and your family richly today.
